Dolce Far Niente is a black and white photobook focussing on what me and my mates got up to during a Cornish summer. Dolce far niente is an Italian saying, roughly translating to “sweet doing nothing”, which describes a lifestyle. A pleasant idleness. Something which I felt translated perfectly into my life and relationships at the time. This book represents and documents a unique part of my life, a time of freedom, ecstasy and nostalgia fuelling memories. A time of anticipation and the creeping dread of the future, but in the meantime it was pretty sweet doing nothing.
