New Skool Shoes is a zine discussing popular footwear amomngt young people. Exploring both the history of the shoe but also looking at the perceptions and identity taken up by the people who choose to wear them. The zine is written from the point of view of a character “NUT” as he traverses the pages, commenting on the shoes, making jokes and occasionally bringing his dad along for the ride. This zine was my first exploration into including more graphic design elements in my work as well as focussing on the writing aspects.
